Each vehicle generally uses one of two types of charging cable

Type 1 vehicle chargers are used when there is only a single phase power supply available.

Type 2 vehicle chargers are preferential if can be installed or used in community charging stations, as they can cater for both single phase and three phase power supplies, charge a vehicle 3 times quicker, and also help to improve grid balancing.
